He was predeceased by: his parents, R. A. Kennedy and Annie Zorn Kennedy; his wife Florence Kennedy; his son Paul Kennedy; and his grandchildren, Wendy Creech and Richard Padgett.
He is survived by: his children, Harry Kennedy, Jr. of Barnwell, SC and Helen Kennedy of Barnwell, SC; and his grandchildren, Bubba Kennedy (Kat), Joseph Kennedy and Savannah Padgett Barker (Andrew). He is also survived by six great-grandchildren; as well as one great-great grandchild.
