It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Ralph Stanley Hiers of Barnwell, South Carolina, born in Hilda, South Carolina, who passed away on June 15, 2023, at the age of 76, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by : his parents, James Frank Hiers and Mildred Luella Hartzog Hiers; his brother James Earl Hiers; and his grandsons, Joshua Lovell Quattlebaum and Robert Michael Hiers.

He is survived by : his wife Kathryn Ann Krutchek Hiers; his children, Marissa Young (James) of Cope, SC, Michael Hiers (Frankie) of Barnwell and Scotty Hiers (Sandy) of Macedonia, SC; his sisters, Shelby Kittrell of Cope, SC, Alice Batchler of Gaston, SC and Debra Croft (Wayne) of Barnwell; his sisters-in-law, Gloria Hiers and Mary Strauss; his grandchildren, Alexandra Caroline Young, James Cody Hiers (Lindsey) and Benjamin Gage Hiers (Amanda); his great grandchildren, Levi Hiers, Harley Hiers, Wyatt Hiers, Jayson Campbell, Raelynn Hiers, Theodore Hiers and Brooke Bradford; and his niece Elizabeth Schilling. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
