He was predeceased by: his parents, Julian Clyde Durst and Nezzie Ridgell Durst of Batesburg, SC.; his sisters, Nezzie Kathryn Durst and Elaine Long (Butch Bernard); and his nephew Brian Smith.
He is survived by: his wife Jo Ann Alewine Durst; his children, Delynn Barnes (Randy), Donna Durst and Brent Durst (Carrie); his stepchildren, Eddie Hutchison (Leigh Anne) and Jennifer Evans (Chance); his grandchildren, Adam Barnes (Susan), Stephanie Widmann (Stan), Miranda Crapps, Samantha Brandt (Alex), Thad Gosik, Clayton Gosik, Emmalie Hutchison and Lucas Hutchison; his sister Deborah Kay Durst; his niece Beverly Leslie (Lee); and his nephews, Neal Smith (Florence) and Stacy Carpenter. He is also survived by seven great- grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 25th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Barr-Price Funeral Home Batesburg-Leesville Chapel (256 Main St, Leesville, SC 29070). A funeral service will be held on Sunday, October 25th 2026 at 3:00 PM at the Price Funeral Home and Crematorium (256 Main St, Leesville, SC 29070). A burial will be held on Sunday, October 25th 2026 at 4:00 PM at the Batesburg Cemetery (600 Howard St, Batesburg-Leesville, SC 29006).
