She was predeceased by: her parents, Wilbur Waters and Hattie Ione Orender Waters; her husband Alfred B. Matthews; and her brother James Harold Waters. She is survived by: her son Anthony "Tony" Matthews; and her sisters, Doris Elizabeth Whitman, Vera Mae Smith (James) and Barbara Waters. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
