She was predeceased by: her parents, Thomas H. Derrick and Polly Harmon Derrick. She is survived by: her husband James "Jimmy" F. McCarty, Jr.; her children, Trinity (Cindy), Brandy, Andy and Cindy (Jason); and her siblings, Cecil, James E. Derrick and Patricia Hamilton (Chuck). She is also survived by 5 grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
