He is survived by: his mother Betty Jane Terry Hall; his children, Brandon Moates and Mary Jane McGowan; his brothers, James Moates, Larry Moates, Harvey Moates, Carl Moates and Kenneth Moates; and his girlfriend Carol Williams. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
