He was predeceased by: his former wife Sylvia Lybrand Gunter; his parents, Walter Banks and Clara Weathersbee Gunter; and his siblings, Walter Leonard Gunter, James Robert Gunter and Helen Gunter Richardson.
He is survived by: his grandchildren, Morgan and Madison Thompson; and his children, Tonia Gunter Thompson (Scotty) of North Augusta, SC and Dewey "Scott" Gunter of Omaha.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorials be made to the American Legion Post #153, 121 Langley Pond Rd, Warrenville, SC 29851, to continue the work Ralph held close to his heart.
