She was predeceased by: her parents, William James Whedbee and Jakey Cain Whedbee; her husband Ross O Somers; her siblings, Norma Jean McCoy, Patricia Anne Hobbs and William James Whedbee, Jr. (Ross Somers); and her niece Barbara Ann Ward.
She is survived by: her brother Charles Whedbee; and her daughters, Georgia Ansley, Laura Logue, Marsha Schroder and Susan Daugherty. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
