James Walter leaves behind cherished memories for friends, family, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. He is survived by: his wife Karen Dick; his daughter Jayme Bowman (John); his stepsons, Philip Backlund (Kate) and Kurt Backlund (Karen); and his grandchildren, Jenni Bowman, Brooke Bowman and Tyler Backlund.
A graveside service was held on Tuesday, July 14th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Beaufort National Cemetery (1601 Boundary St, Beaufort, SC 29901).
