He was predeceased by: his parents, John Baptist and Wilma Heles (Lawson); and his sisters, Chris Heles and Carole Hill. He is survived by: his children, Mary "Missy" Heles-Moberly (Michael) and Drew Heles (Patricia); his grandchildren, Devin, Drake, Dade Stanley, Dallen Moberly, Tristan and Chloe Heles; and his siblings, Mark Heles and Ginny Burnett. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 24th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Anderson Funeral Home (611 Robert Smalls Pkwy, Beaufort, SC 29906). A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, July 25th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Peter's Historic Church (710 Carteret St, Beaufort, SC 29902). The inurnment will be held on Friday, July 25th 2025 at the St. Peter's Columbarium.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to Mirasol Health (formerly Hospice Care of the Lowcountry) in John's name.
