He was predeceased by: his former wife Marie Smoak; his parents, Mendel Smoak and Miriam Smoak; and his brother Pat Smoak. He is survived by: his wife Brenda Hill Smoak; his siblings, Jerry (Jan), Connie Berblinger (Mike), Gwen Robertson (Donny), Janet Byrd (Keith) and Darlene Jones (Johnny); his children, Ernie Smoak (Peggy), Jana McAdams (Ben) and Javis Smoak (Elizabeth); and his stepchildren, Robert Lambert (Stephanie) and Sheila Arinder (Randy). He is also survived by twelve grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 23rd 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Salem Baptist Church (5187 LA-3276, Stonewall, LA 71078). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 23rd 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
