She was predeceased by: her husband William; her son Todd Poppell; and her siblings, Mary Hudson, Lenny Martin, A. T. Martin and Tommy Martin.
She is survived by: her children, Kelly Collins Davidson, Angel Nelson and Timothy Tyler Whitt of Beaufort; her grandchildren, Mindy Farris, Collin Davidson, Chase Davidson, Jan Nelson, Kelton Nelson, Julia Poppell, Brandon Poppell and Colin Poppell; and her brother Earnest "Ernie" Gesell. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her honor to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Friends of Caroline Hospice.
