He was predeceased by: his parents, Lionel Carroll Cabaniss Sr. and Helen Hassell Cabaniss; his daughter Francis Ann; and his brother Franklin Gerald "Jerry" Ausmus. He is survived by: his wife Mary Kraay Cabaniss; his daughters, Cindy Bennett (Benny) and Sandra; his son-in-law Alan Fox; his brother William Carlton Cabaniss (Carolyn); his grandchildren, Benjie Bennett, Andrew Lionel Fox, Brandon Joseph Bennett, Katy Gilbert, Dustyn Alan Fox, Amanda Bennett, Skylar Perkins and Bailey Perkins; and his extended family, Jeff, Michelle Gilbert, Ashley and Gabby Gilbert. He is also survived by his great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 7th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Carteret Street United Methodist Church (408 Carteret St, Beaufort, SC 29902).
