It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Alva Jo Ann Hawkins (Belton, South Carolina), who passed away on July 13, 2025, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. As we bid farewell to this cherished soul, solace is taken in the memories held dear — the laughter shared, the wisdom imparted, the moments of quiet reflection in their presence. Though Alva may no longer walk among us, her spirit lives on in the echoes of her kindness, the warmth of her embrace, and the light of her enduring love.
She was predeceased by: her husband Douglas "Doug" McIlwain Hawkins; her parents, Hoke B. Nation and Delree Flemming Nation; her sons, Michael Jordan and Timothy Orval Jordan; and her siblings, Travis "Rock" Nation and Mary Hanks.
She is survived by: her daughter Lana Jo Surface; and her granddaughter Jodie Ann Surface.
