In bidding Betty Jean adieu, let us not mourn the silence that now fills the spaces Betty Jean once occupied, but rather celebrate the vibrant colors she painted upon the canvas of our lives. For while she may have departed from this earthly realm, her spirit remains a beacon of light, guiding us through the darkest of nights.

She was predeceased by : her husband Abner Bruce Sims; her parents, John Henry and Emma Grace Latham Kellett; and her brother William B. Kellett. She is survived by : her sons, John Sims (Jean) of Simpsonville, Don Sims (Julie) of Pelzer and Bill Sims (Michelle) of Simpsonville. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

A funeral service was held on Sunday, April 28th 2024 at 3:00 PM at the Washington Baptist Church (208 Washington Church Rd, Pelzer, SC 29669).
