He is survived by: his parents, Gregory Andrew Markel and Tamela Sue Peconge Lally (Richard); his wife Rosa Barocio Markel; his son Halen Andrew Markel; his sisters, Sarah Markel (Joe) and Laura Burtis (Matt); and his grandparents, Beverly Markel (late Gerald) and Karen Peconge (late Harold). He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
