He was predeceased by: his wife Sue Fricks Brown; his parents, John Brown and Frances Ayers Brown; his son Chris Brown; his grandson Jay Brown; his sister Martha Ann Carithers; and his former wife Helen Locklear Brown.
He is survived by: his children, J. C. Brown (Sharon) of Abbeville and Rebecca Phillips (Tony) of Gray Court; and his grandchildren, Brandon Brown (April), Christy Kimrey (Ryan), T. J. Brown (Julie), Nicki Walker (Bryan), Jimmy Brown III (Kristen), Ashly Young and C. J. Brown. He is also survived by 19 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
Flowers are accepted or memorials may be made to Big Creek Baptist Church.
