He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Mills and Retha Clamp Shearer; and his former wife Irene Shirley Shearer. He is survived by: his wife Jackie Grant Branyon Shearer; his children, Mitzi Yvette Shearer of Greenville and Matt Walker of Washington, DC; his stepsons, Donnie Branyon (Stacey) of Honea Path and Steve Branyon of Honea Path; his brother Kenneth Shearer (Dottie) of Belton; and his grandchildren, Colt Branyon, Elle Branyon and Reenie Shearer.
In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Disabled American Veterans, Macedonia Baptist Church of Williamston or Covenant Baptist Church of Anderson.
