He was predeceased by: his parents, Zeb Vance and Mary Gathing Starnes; and his siblings, Vance Thomas Starnes, Robert Wyatt Starnes, Ralph C. "John" Starnes and Annie Elena Hagler.
He is survived by: his son Carl Randy Starnes (Nancy); his sister Michell Faircloth; his grandsons, Randy Lee Starnes (Jess) and Brad Lineberry (Kaycee); and his caregivers, Jerry Starnes and Charlie Mae Gardner. He is also survived by 9 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
