He was predeceased by : his parents, Olin Hazel Pate and Wilhelmenia Stuckey Pate; and his siblings, Olin Hubert, Leonard, Gerald, James Pate and Joan Pate Houser.

He is survived by : his son Travis Pate (Michelle) of Gastonia, NC; his grandchildren, Noah Pate and Alyssa Adams (Justin); his great grandchildren, Bailey Pate and Ella Adams; and his sister Wilhelmina Phillips. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in his honor to the charity of one's choice.
