He was predeceased by : his parents, James A. DuBose Jr. and Gladys Rogers DuBose; his wife Doris Ann Jackson DuBose; his son Doug DuBose; and his brothers, Ray DuBose, Alvin DuBose and Donnie DuBose.

He is survived by : his children, Becky Rabon (Robert) of Ashwood, SC and Tim DuBose (Lisa) of Bishopville, SC; his grandchildren, McKenna DuBose (Zach) and Madison DuBose (Alex); his sister-in-law Janie Jackson; and his sisters, Patricia Ries (Michael), Mildred Stevens (Pete), Christine Bryant (Robert) and Grace Toler (Ken). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
