He was predeceased by: his parents, Tecora Mahaffey-Henderson and Joe Henderson, Sr.; and his siblings, George W. Henderson, Sr., Joe Henderson, Jr., Casper Henderson, Louise Henderson Crockett-Simms and Bernice Henderson.
He is survived by: his wife Delores I. Henderson; his children, Kelvin M. Brisco and Tonya H. Ricks (Shondell); his grandchildren, Ki'Harri A. Ricks, Chase B. Ricks and Jaxson S. Ricks; and his brother Steve Miller. He is also survived by many nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
