He is survived by : his wife Renee Calcutt Bell; his children, John Crues Bell IV (Paige), Catherine Bell Smith (Blake), Bryant Calcutt "Cally" Bell (Katye), Harrison Blake Smith, Rawlinson Crues Smith and Stella Elizabeth Lynch; and his sisters, Julia Bell Oliphant (Albert) and Cindy Bell Deschamps (Green). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

A funeral service was held on Wednesday, April 24th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Bishopville Presbyterian Church (215 S Main St, Bishopville, SC 29010). A reception was held on Wednesday, April 24th 2024 at 12:30 PM at the same location.
