He is survived by: his wife Glenda Atkinson Ellison; his son Charles Ellison (Katie) of Charlotte, NC; his grandchildren, J. Carter Ellison and Claire Ellison of Charlotte, NC; his siblings, David Ellison (Bonnie) of Florence, SC and Nancy Johann of Richmond, VA; his mother-in-law Evelyn Atkinson of Lynchburg; his sister-in-law Lynette McKenzie; and his nephews, Matt and John McKenzie.
