He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Grady Joy, Sr. and Dorothy Ellis Moore; his stepparent Furman "Tince" Moore; his siblings, Henry Joy and Ela Pearson; and his sister-in-law Evelyn Owens.
He is survived by: his wife JoAnn Harding Joy; his children, Brandon Douglas Joy (Melody) of Gaffney, Jaxon Dakota Joy, Angela "Angie" Joy Harrill (Mark) of Gaffney and Tina Joy Foster (Brad) of Gaffney; his brothers, James "Jimmy" Owens (Judy) of Gaffney, Wallace "Dickie" Owens of Gaffney and Franklin Owens (Teresa) of Duncan; his sister-in-law Tammy Joy of Latta; and his grandchildren, Kayleigh Brown (Brandon), Caleb Harrill, Autumn Foster, Mallory Joy and Dalton Joy. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 3rd 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Blakely Funeral Home (1047 Chesnee Hwy, Gaffney, SC 29341). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 3rd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Blakely Funeral Home Chapel (1047 Chesnee Hwy, Gaffney, SC 29341).
