He was predeceased by : his father Thomas Franklin Elliott Sr.; his mother-in-law Mary Elizabeth Brown; and his grandparents, Robert and Elsie Queen Johnson. He is survived by : his spouse Tracy Brown Elliott; his mother Carolyn Johnson Elliott; his children, Justin McKay Elliott of Blacksburg and Shelby Elliott Major (Nicholas) of New Orleans; his siblings, Toby Elliott (Pam) of Gaffney, Paula Wallace (Steve) of Gastonia, Glenda Dyer (Roy) of Grover and Ruthie Broome (Steve) of Blacksburg; and his father-in-law Steve Brown of Blacksburg. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
