It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Penny Bolen of Blackville, South Carolina, who passed away on March 2, 2026, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Norman Lawrence Smith and Mable Elizabeth Webster; her siblings, Kathy Bohn and Gary Smith; and her granddaughter Melissa Bolen.
She is survived by: her children, Lorie L. Bolen (Jennifer) of Blackville, SC, Milledge Bates Bolen, Jr. of Mt. Beulah Community, SC and Tommy J. Bolen, Sr. (Kay Givens) of Blackville, SC; her grandchildren, Ciji Bolen Bell (Ryan), Kelsie Bolen (Carl), Duffie Bolen (Shovone) and Cody R. Bolen; her great grandchildren, Samuel, Kierston, Kinsley, Colton, Caroline Grace, Bates, Alena, Gage and Levi; and her siblings, Connie McAdams of California and Lawrence "Larry" Smith of California. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, March 6th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Folk Funeral Home (170 Elko St, Williston, SC 29853-2612). A celebration of life was held on Friday, March 6th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
