He was predeceased by: his parents, Velta Eulah McKenzie Shelton and Charles Harold Shelton; and his daughter Janet Denise Shelton Lorenz. He is survived by: his wife Susan Elizabeth Shelton; his son Charles David Shelton; his children-in-law, Deborah Kole Shelton and Larry Lorenz; his granddaughter McKenzie Kate Shelton; his sister Linda Sue Shelton Frederick; and his siblings-in-law, Dr. Dale Frederick, Martha Watkins, Alice Kimmons and Hugh Horne. He is also survived by nieces, a special nephew, as well as many cousins.
