Family, friends, and acquaintances remember Michael for his warmth, thoughtfulness, and the moments shared together. He was predeceased by: his parents, John Smith and Agnes Smith (Higgins); and his son Michael Hogan Smith. He is survived by: his wife Carol (Hogan); his daughter Meaghan; his grandsons, Kadin and Wyatt; and his brothers, John and Bob. He is also survived by his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 15th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Sauls Funeral Home (90 Simmonsville Rd, Bluffton, SC 29910).
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Boston University's Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy center (https://www.bu.edu) in honor of Michael Henry Smith.
