He was predeceased by: his parents, David Hugh MacKay and Jane Elizabeth Thomas MacKay; his wife Louise MacKay; and his daughter Susan MacKay. He is survived by: his daughter Katherine "Katie" MacKay; his sister-in-law Karol MacKay; his nephews, David MacKay, Grant MacKay and Jason Riel; and his niece Erin Riel Price.

In lieu of flowers the family is asking for donations to the Alzheimer's Association in the name of Tom MacKay.
