He was predeceased by: his parents, David Hugh MacKay and Jane Elizabeth Thomas MacKay; his wife Louise MacKay; and his daughter Susan MacKay. He is survived by: his daughter Katherine "Katie" MacKay; his sister-in-law Karol MacKay; and his sibling's children, David MacKay, Grant MacKay, Jason Riel and Erin Riel Price.

In lieu of flowers the family is asking for donations to the Alzheimer's Association in the name of Tom MacKay.
