He is survived by: his wife Irma Owens; his children, Cassandra Minson (Leroy) of Charleston, Deborah Owens Parker (Dennis) of Newark, Herbert Owens Jr. of Bronx and Robert Williams (Dinora) of Henderson; and his siblings, James Edward Owens (Marie) of John's Island, Thomas Owens of John's Island, Shirley Commodore (Elijah) of John's Island, Ida Owens Coaxum of Charleston and Gracie Owens of Bronx. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
