He was predeceased by : his parents, Thomas Newman Campbell and Mabel Johnson Campbell; and his siblings, Ossie Jordan, Gloster, David and Thomas Campbell.

He is survived by : his wife Mildred Shaw Campbell; his children, Michael Alton Campbell (Susie) and Renee C. Newman (Terry Frierson); and his grandchildren, Stephen Campbell Newman, Austin Cooper Newman and Eva Leland Newman. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
