He is survived by : his wife Shirley Parker Ransom; his children, Britton Parker Ransom and Suzanne "Suzy" Ransom Howard; his grandchildren, Alexandra "Alex" Britton Howard, John "Parker" Howard, Tarah Hancock (Matthew) and Noah Elias Ransom; and his great grandchild Everleigh Rose Hancock.

“I was blessed to become good friends with Barney after his retirement from DuPont. We walked with him and Shirley for miles daily. He came by to take me with him to local high school football games. I went with him to hear Franklin Graham a few years ago when Franklin visited all state capitals. He loved the USA and tried hard to buy American products only. Real estate sales became his passion during his retirement. We will miss our time with him”
