He was predeceased by: his former wife Peggy Stokes; his parents, Bertha Stokes and Willie Stokes; and his siblings, Henry Stokes, Ann Huggins, Rae King and Mary Davis.
He is survived by: his wife Frances "Fran" Stokes; his sons, Donnie Stokes (Deborah) and Larry Stokes (Joyce); and his stepchildren, Jimmy Forrest, Jr. (Karon), Karen Vinson (Steve) and Roger Forrest (Kim). He is also survived by 9 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity on one's choice.
