He was loved and cherished by many people including : his wife Ann Hagan; his daughter Kathleen Carmichael of Florence; his stepdaughter Colleen Hagan of Cupertino, CA; his grandchildren, Anwar Ali-Ahmad of San, Ahmad Ali-Ahmad of Washington, DC and Ayah Ali-Ahmad of Berkeley; his former life partner Patsy; and his father John Zimmerman.
