It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John Downey of Camden, South Carolina, born in Waynesboro, Virginia, who passed away on April 12, 2024, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by : his parents, James Robert Downey (Jack) and Anna Belle Shumate Downey; his siblings, Jackie Johnson (Wayne), Linda McLeod (Cliff), Bobby Downey (Barbara) and Cindy Wirt (David); and his nieces and nephews, Tal Johnson (Laura) and Dana Downey Schmidt (Casey).

He is survived by : his wife Niki Bellavia Downey; his daughters, Danielle Vinson (Eric) of Camden and Amanda Faust (James) of Charleston; his granddaughters, Emma and Anna Vinson; and his nieces and nephews, Chuck Johnson (Mary), Melanie Medeiros (Gordy), Matthew Downey (Lauren), Marc Downey, Lee McLeod, Charlie McLeod, David Wirt and Rusty Wirt.

Visitation was held on Thursday, April 18th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the St. Timothy's Lutheran Church (1301 Mill St, Camden, SC 29020). A memorial service was held on Thursday, April 18th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
