He is survived by: his wife Janet Anderson Shumate; his daughters, Mary Elizabeth Nelson (Brian) of Canton, GA and Sarah Jennings Greenway of Camden, SC; his grandchildren, Sarah Grace Garrison, Thomas Henry Greenway, Elizabeth Jennings Greenway and Samuel Harrison Ferguson; his sisters, Nancy Shumate Willson of Dataw Island, SC and Renee Shumate Colvin (Billy) of Camden, SC; his brother-in-law Malcolm Fletcher Anderson, Jr. (Nancy); and his nieces and nephews, Kelli Bates of Sammamish, WA, Aimee Culler of Mooresville, NC, Stephanie Catoe of Camden, SC, Patrick Anderson of Charleston, SC, Tyler Anderson of Monroe, NC and Tripp Colvin of Camden, SC..
