He was predeceased by : his parents, Capers Sweatman and Anna Dehay Sweatman; his sibling Mellie Reynolds of Pinopolis; and his granddaughter Jaime'Lee Sweatman. He is survived by : his wife Phyllis Cross; his sons, Dwayne Sweatman (Teresa) of Camden and Ronald Sweatman (Robin) of Cross; his grandsons, Dwayne Thomas Sweatman Jr. and Ron Sweatman II; his caregiver Tarsha Snider; his nieces, Charlene Logan and Gloria Spann; and his great-nephews, Chris Sligh (Janice Davis), Denny Austin (Kimberly Schocker) and Bubba Starns. He is also survived by three great grandchildren.

A celebration of life was held on Tuesday, April 16th 2024 at 4:00 PM at the Worship Center (128 Red Bank Rd, Goose Creek, SC 29445).
