He was predeceased by: his mother Helen McKee Schoolmeester. He is survived by: his father George Edward Schoolmeester; his wife Diane Smith Schoolmeester; his children, Rob Schoolmeester (Erin) and Jennifer Walden; his stepchildren, Sheila Whitlaw, Grace Whitlaw, MiKayla Woodward (Dustin) and Zachary Jones (Cheyenne); and his siblings, Dr. Ken Schoolmeester (Holly), Steve Schoolmeester (Teresa), Rick Schoolmeester (Marla), Rob Schoolmeester (Myra) and Jackie George (Al). He is also survived by his numerous grandchildren; and many extended family members, friends.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 30th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM at the Kornegay Funeral Home (1112 Fair St, Camden, SC 29020). A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 1st 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Kornegay Funeral Home, Camden Chapel (1112 Fair St, Camden, SC 29020).
In honor of Larry's love for animals and the special bond he shared with Maggie, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made to Southern States Mastiff Rescue in Maggie's name.
