Helen Patricia Shannon Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Helen Patricia Shannon of Campobello, South Carolina, who passed away on July 21, 2025 at the age of 86. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, William Melton Downey and Margaret Elizabeth Hofmeister; her sons, Edward John Shannon and Barry Charles Shannon; and her brother William "Duke" Melton Downey.
She is survived by: her husband Tom; her sons, Thomas "Skip" Andrew Shannon, Jr. (Vickie), Patrick Michael Shannon (Lynn), James Paul Shannon (Anong) and Mark Anthony Shannon (Dana); and her brothers, Richard Charles Downey and Thomas Jefferson Downey. She is also survived by twelve grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 27th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Petty Funeral Home (124 S 562, Landrum, SC 29356). A funeral Mass will be held on Monday, July 28th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church (180 Laurel Ave, Tryon, NC 28782).
