She was predeceased by: her parents, Richard Thornwell Pittman and Margart Juliet George Pittman; and her son David Russell Pittman. She is survived by: her husband David W. Compton; her son Richard Charles Pittman; her sisters, Karen Pittman, Alisa Beaver and Pamela "Pepper" Wright; and her cousin Lorie Parker. She is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 5th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Rock Hill Ward (1883 Saluda Rd, Rock Hill, SC 29730). A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 5th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Tuesday, October 6th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the Forest Lawn Cemetery (2858 North Carolina Hwy 150, Lincolnton, NC 28092).
