He was predeceased by: his parents, Uge Mack Dantzler, Sr. and Dorothy Gramling Dantzler; his siblings, Margaret Ann D-Aiello, Margie Carol Dantzler and Uge Mack Dantzler, Jr.; and his nephews, Ralph Ulmer and Dean Ulmer.

He is survived by: his wife Barbara Owens Dantzler; his children, Tina Dantzler, Dr. Karen Buchanan (Neal McCollum), Peggy Dantzler, Ann Griffis, Tim James, Chip Johnson and Pattie Rabon; his sister Jeanette Kinder (Jackie Dantzler); and his nieces and nephews, Danny, Jeffrie, Al, Lisa, Kim, Tammy and Kippie.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Epworth Children's Home, St. Jude's Children's Hospital or Trinity Baptist Church.
