Albert R. Koon Jr. Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Albert R. Koon Jr. of Chapin, South Carolina, who passed away on October 17, 2025 at the age of 74. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Ray, Sr. and Dorothy Stuart Koon; and his daughter-in-law Judge Tanya Gee. He is survived by: his wife Susan Keating Koon; his sons, Chris Koon (Kristen) of Columbia, SC and Ryan Koon (Megan) of Simpsonville, SC; his grandchildren, Will, Sabin Koon, Marie and Jack Koon; and his sisters, Annie Rose Stuck, Mary Nell Metts and Betty Miles. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
The lying in state will be held on Monday, October 20th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Chapin Town Hall (157 N Columbia Ct, Chapin, SC 29036). Visitation will be held on Monday, October 20th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the same location. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 21st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Mt. Horeb Lutheran Church (101 E Boundary St, Chapin, SC 29036).
