With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Benjamin Jones of Chapin, South Carolina, born in Kinston, North Carolina, who passed away on July 25, 2023 at the age of 77. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Benjamin Franklin Jones and Elizabeth Wallace Jones; and his brother James Robert "Bob" Jones. He is survived by: his wife Janice; his daughters, Laura Haynes (Kenny Haynes), Rebecca Lassiter (Walt Lassiter) and Sarah Cross (John Cross); his grandchildren, Emily Gass, Madison Gass, Brock Haynes, Jacob Lassiter, Abigail Cross and Jackson Cross; and his sister Katy King.

In lieu of flowers, donations or memorials may be made to Chapin Christian Community Church, 415 Lexington Ave, Chapin, SC.

“A heartfelt life celebration memory for our Tommy and Janice Jones Family and Friends. Precious memories as recollected by 1965 Kinston High School Senior Ted Jones and wife, Linda Jones, from Wilmington. Visualize Janice, Tommy, Linda, and Ted in the Waycross Baptist Church van on a dinner trip with 10 couples plus Church-Pastor when Ted and Tommy started wrestling for fun. Pastor Ray also had fun when he offered to remove Ted and Tommy from the van if they didn't stay seated. True memory”
