She is survived by: her husband Chris Nelson; her children, Chris Jamal Nelson, Brittany Nicole Nelson and Byron Terrell Nelson; her siblings, Donzella "Mickey" Washington, Pamela Washington, Felicia "Lisa" Washington, Ronda Mikell and Cynthia Washington; her aunts, Doris Davis, Jacquelyn "Jackie" Simmons and Linda Simmons (Franklin); and her uncle James "Jimmy" Washington (Doris). She is also survived by other relatives and friends.
Viewing was held on Friday, September 11th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Sr. Memorial Chapel (4129 Highway 17 North, Awendaw, SC 29429). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Greater Zion AME Church (4174 N Hwy 17, Awendaw, SC 29429).
