He was predeceased by: his parents, Claude Mitchell Carnell, Sr. and Edith Ila Gossett Carnell; his daughter Elizabeth Jean Frei Carnell of Murfreesboro, TN; and his wife Carol Spurlock Carnell. He is survived by: his son Claude Michael Carnell (Nancy) of Charleston, SC; his grandchildren, Christopher Smith (Raven), Christina Carnell and Colin Carnell; and his sister Jean Wallace (Bunky). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
