He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Alan Manton Elliott and Dr. E. Mary Hackett Elliott; his wife Sallie Lou Johnson Elliott; his daughter Gwen Farwick (Donald); his grandsons, Jackson and Logan Farwick of Cincinnati; his son Jeff Elliott (Susannah Elliott); and his grandchildren, Sam Elliott, Susie Elliott of Charleston and Hackett.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Mark Catesby Centre at the University of South Carolina and the Kiawah Conservancy.
