She was predeceased by: her parents, Deacon Christopher Coaxum Sr. and Julia Pope; and her siblings, Christopher Coaxum Jr. (Cassandra), James Coaxum, Ervin Coaxum, Elouise Delores Lawrence, Oscar Coaxum (Beulah), Kenneth Bernard Coaxum Sr. (Gwendolyn) and Robert Lee Coaxum.

She is survived by: her children, Tiffany Pope Sewell (Chris) and Treyvon Simmons (Chanel); her grandchild Chrisette; and her siblings, Leroy Coaxum, Orabelle Williams, Sara Pope, Laverne Pope of Colorado, Lawrence Pope, Anthony Bailey (Felicia) and Annette Barksdale (Ricky).

Viewing will be held on Wednesday, October 7th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Ollie M. Dickerson Memorial Chapel. A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Calvary Baptist Church (620 Rutledge Ave, Charleston, SC 29403). A burial will be held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 at the Riverview Memorial Park Cemetery (3715 Azalea Dr, North Charleston, SC 29405).
