He was predeceased by: his parents, Douglas Baxley and Nadine R. Hesse; his wife Sonja Lahmeyer Baxley; his granddaughter Bailey Baxley; and his siblings, O'Neal Baxley and Joyce Baxley Bradham.
He is survived by: his children, Don W. Baxley Jr. (Karen) of Lancaster, SC, Todd Baxley (Kathy) of Hollywood, SC and Cissy Baxley Bonifay (Andy) of Charleston, SC; his grandchildren, Chandler B. Kirkley (Donald) and Trent B. Bonifay; his great grandchildren, Rhett, Watson and Lake; and his close friend Marleen Alexander. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 17th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Downtown Chapel (232 Calhoun St, Charleston, SC 29401). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 17th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
