It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Dorothy Marlene Knight of Charleston, South Carolina, who passed away on September 6, 2023, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, James Theodore Fralix and Ellen Victoria Henrics Fralix; her grandson Douglas Hunter McLeod; and her siblings, James Fralix, Jr., Herbert Fralix, Robert Fralix and Joan Payne.

She is survived by: her husband Melvin; her children, Cindy McLeod (Doug) of Walterboro, SC, Maria Rentz (Michael) of Charleston, SC, Melanie Wise of Charleston, SC and Melvin Knight, Jr. (Paula) of Charleston, SC; her siblings, Annette Leonard of Columbia, SC, Henry Fralix (Ann) of Charleston, SC and Deborah Vergere (John) of Holly Hill, SC; her grandchildren, Kristen Marlene Whitfield (Jeff), D. J. Wise (Bri), Michael Rentz (Taylor), Elizabeth Marlene Cundiff (Ian), Patrick Wise, Marshall Rentz, Madelyn Knight, Allison Knight and Garrett Knight; and her great grandchildren, Kylie, McKenna, Rooks, Leighton, Coleman, Aubrey, Abigail, Adalynn and Calli.
